I just cannot believe how sick I’ve been over the past few days. It’s been absolutely terrible! I don’t feel horrible, but I just have absolutely no energy or desire to do anything but lay in bed. I hate feeling like this because then I don’t get anything done that I want to finish and things start piling up for me to deal with. It gets horrible and then I end up all stressed out.
For right now though I’m just going to try and feel better. I’ve been watching America’s Funniest Home Videos for the past few hours and am planning on putting in Post Grad here soon.
BLAH
So the other night as I was driving back to York I almost got in an accident
. I was traveling up an on-ramp for I-83 and this white car cut right in front of me. I slammed on my brakes but still came only about a hair away from hitting him. It would have been his fault, but honestly right now I can’t deal with a smashed up car. But that wasn’t the weird part about it.
The weird part is that the same night I was talking with my cousin who just moved to San Diego for college and a couple days ago someone cut him off too. The difference is that he actually hit the person. It was a SUV while he drives a really tiny car, so most of the damage was taken by him. He couldn’t drive the car away from the scene unfortunately and has spent the last few days looking for a bodyshop in California that he can take his car to and hopefully get it fixed. He said he doesn’t think that the frame is bent or the engine damaged, so hopefully it will be fixable. Of course he’s a little more relieved since the cops agree that it was the other drivers fault and the guy had good insurance so my cousin doesn’t have too much to worry about.
Well, for starters, this is a brand new ElJay for me. I was getting sick of my old name and really didn’t want to spend money to rename it and then get paid for a year. So I decided to just create a new journal and go from there. I’m pretty sure only a few people from my old one will actually friend this journal because I’m pretty sure not many of them read it anymore. So well… Now I have this place. And I’m planning on actually using it… I hope..
Watched Generation Kill from start to finish today. I do admit that I was only originally interested in it because Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd was in it, but now that I’ve seen it I’m pretty sure I’d have loved it even if ASkars wasn’t in it. It was serious at times, hilarious at others (there were a bunch of good one-liners, i.e. the quote from my icon), and seemed to depict exactly what I imagine it might have been like over there during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Plus, it’s based on a true story so it automatically gets more bonus points. I’m pretty sure I can officially regard HBO as the King Network when it comes to miniseries depicting war-time events. Band of Brothers was extremely impressive and it looks like The Pacific is going to be just as good when it comes out.
What can I say… I’m an American combat history buff… =]
All my life I’ve wanted a motorcycle. Ever since the days when I’d hunker down in front of the computer and play Road Rash all day (I just hoped I wouldn’t crash my real motorcycle as much as I crashed my character’s). I’ve always driven “fast” cars because I knew someday I’d be flying down the road on two wheels with nothing but a smile on my face and the wind in my hair.
However there’s a slight problem with my grand plan: I know nothing about motorcycles; or vehicles in general. I don’t really know what the upkeep on them is like. Will I need a Battery Tender? How often to they have to go to the garage? Is it really bad for them to be in the cold during the winter? These are all questions that I’ll need to learn how to answer before I get fancy and buy a “hog” as they call them.
I have picked out what I want though. I want a black sport bike with some sort of flames on it. I’m not a big fan of choppers or Harleys, so its definitely going to be what the boy calls a “crotch rocket” for me. I don’t want to be on the “grungier” side of cycling… I want to ride in style.
I’m not much in the mood for blogging today. Michaels father is in the hospital and the doctors can’t seem to figure out just what’s wrong with him other than it’s something to do with his heart. And of course here I am stuck hundreds of miles away while he’s up there trying to deal with all of it. So I’ve spent most of the day moping around not knowing quite what to do since I feel useless.
So this post is really just an update to let you know why I’m not posting and to make a promise that tales of my Texas adventure as well as a big update on the current status of my 101 in 1001 project will be coming very shortly. But for now I’ll leave you with my 365 pictures from yesterday and today.

(Jan 31 – The Water Wall in Houston)

(Feb 01 – Just me again)
Like I said… More coming soon!
Hey everyone, I’m back in Pennsylvania. I have safely returned to the ground and I am on my way home. There will be more later.
Might be a little with the 365 picture, but it has been taken!
I don’t really have much to say tonight because I’m exhausted other than I finally got to see Wonderland and it is officially the best musical I have ever seen in my entire life!
