Today's Experiment …. Sorta FAIL

So I had this (I don’t know how) bright (it really was) idea on Wednesday to get myself back into a more normal sleeping schedule (or at least try). I had made plans to go with D.S. to the mall/movies/whatever on Thursday, so after Radio X got over with, I just didn’t go to sleep. Not that I was particularly tired anyways. I closed my eyes for a little bit, but my mom came downstairs not long after, so I just got up.

So I wasn’t tired at all when I picked D.S. up, and we hung out for a bit until his dad got home from getting coffee. Then we headed out to the mall and got lunch at Arby’s (I haven’t had fast food in soooo long… It was good). We window shopped around the whole mall, including me trying to figure out how to kife two puppies from the pet shop since they were utterly adorable. Saw many things that I’d love to have gotten, but didn’t have the money for (inluding THIS SHIRT which kinda-sorta both rocks my world and horrifies me). When finally bored, we decided to go see a movie.

That was the first mistake. We decided to see The Tale of Despereaux which in itself wasn’t that bad. But sitting in a dark theater for 10 minutes waiting for the movie to start – NOT GOOD. I swear I only saw about 35 minutes of the whole movie (most of which was the end). I fell asleep sometime during the previews, and only woke up for bits and pieces when it got loud. Then I finally woke up and stayed up for the rest of it after D.S. explained what had happened.

After the movie was over, we headed back to his house and watched TV/hung out. Everyone who knows about my Love Sac knows that I sleep in it more often than my bed… So since D.S. has one too, I got in a quick nap in while he made us dinner. Then his dad got home from Robotics and since it was almost 9 and I was getting tired, I decided that it was time to head home.

Got back here, packed up a couple of the textbooks that I was selling and then bummed on the computer long enough to check MySpace and Facebook and upload that shirt picture from my cellphone. But last night was the first time in about 4 weeks that I was in bed and asleep before 3am.. I was out like a light by 11:15. The plan was then to get up at 8, but I never heard my alarm clock (all the missed sleep catching up with me) and I didn’t wake up until around 11am. But still, I’m up now, reasonably awake, and am planning on trying to be in bed by at least 11-12 tonight (which is my normal school sleep schedule).

So like I said… In a way, my plan succeeded, since I got MORE sleep than the usual couple hours, and I didnt end up sleeping through a whole day, but I also ended up sleeping through a movie I wanted to see :( so it was somewhat FAIL at the same time.

That’s actually not too bad — the real test is will you get to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight. (Good old chronotherapy.) Let me know how that goes.

(Incidentally, I’m horrible at this kind of stuff because I tend to stay up until about 1:30 or 2am on the weekends and then I’m boned come Sunday night when I have to wake up at 8 for work.
