Spring Break

Well, I haven’t updated in a couple weeks, so I figured that it was time to do so. There really hasn’t been all that much going on in my life unfortunately, except for schoolwork. I am home on spring break though, so I’ve been doing some extreme relaxing too.

There’s not much I can do on spring break either, since it has pretty much been raining non-stop since I got home. It’s supposed to be nice on spring break, but its all crappy and cold. Plus, now I feel extra crappy because apparently I slept wrong last night and now have a horrible pain in my left shoulder. I can barely turn my head without pain shooting all the way down my back. But oh well, I’ll live. Just have to do the best and try to enjoy the rest of my break. Starting tomorrow by having lunch with my aunt who I haven’t seen in quite a while.

Went to the doctor today to get the final verdict on whether or not she could put me back on Metformin for the PCOS or not. I had talked to her last week about the bloodwork she did, and she was unsure if they could start the medication because my liver functions were extremely elevated. So today my mom and I basically figured I was going in to hear the “I’m sorry but we cant help you right now” speech, but it was actually the opposite. I’m starting on 500mg of Metformin a day, and as long as that works out, the dosage may be upped. Shes going to keep a close eye on my bloodwork though, and later this week I’m heading into the GP to get them on board with monitoring my liver. I feel better now than I did, but I’m still pretty scared because of the whole liver thing…

In other news, I’ve been doing pretty well losing weight too. I’ve lost about 14 pounds since February and the number keeps dropping. This is the first significant weight loss Ive had in quite a while. I think I was more motivated by my belief that they werent going to put me on the medication. I knew that if they didn’t put me on it, I’d have to lose weight before they could put me on it. But hopefully now that I’m on the meds this trend will continue.

  1. I’ve been on my spring break this week as well, and I have been relaxing WAY more than I should. I have two papers due next week that I have only started writing as of yesterday.

I am glad you were able to get put back on the meds!

Congrats on the weight loss! My hubby and I started working out over the weekend, and I’m already down 4 lbs…which excites me to no end!

(Wow, this was such a random comment! :P )
