When it comes to electronics and high tech gadgets, I prefer to “window shop” online then purchase in the store. The reason why I prefer this is because I can take as much time as I want to look at the products online. When I’m in the store, I feel pressured to choose as I can be in the way of others looking at the products, especially when they are behind the case and a store employee is waiting for me to make my decision. I also prefer researching it online because I can Google reviews from real users of the product. Electronics tend to be expensive purchases and I want to make the most informed decision I can make. I use my hughes net satellite internet to help me navigate my way to finding the best device for my money.
Recently my phone contract was about to expire and I had the opportunity of getting a new phone for free or low-cost with the activation of a new contract. I got to work immediately looking at the phones available with the contract I would be renewing. I was able to research features, prices, reviews and even watch videos of it in action. Once I had my decision on a couple of models, I went to the store in person to play around with them to make my final purchase. The cool thing was I already did my homework which made shopping for the actual phone much easier than if I just walked in with no prior knowledge.
