I’ve been having a hard time lately coming up with things to write about and it’s driving me bonkers. Things in my life have just become wholly uninteresting and I don’t know what to talk about. So I’ve decided to start doing a few memes here and there and possibly snagging some of the “writers block” questions I’ve come across on the Internet.

Today’s question comes from LiveJournal my blogging home away from home.

Do you like your birth name? If you had the opportunity to change it, would you? What new name would you choose?

I love and hate my name all at the same time. I love it because it is a more unique name, and I’ve only personally known two people who share it with me.

On the other hand, I hate it because it always leads to the question “Is you mom a Whitney Houston fan?” because I was born when Whitney was at the top of her fame. I then have to explain to the asker that no, my mother did not like Whitney Houston and no, I am not named after her.

If given the chance to change my name, I don’t think I would. Mainly because I couldn’t see myself getting used to having a different name, and I don’t want to give up my nickname: Whitters. If I HAD to change it (for something like witness protection) I guess I’d have to, but if it was my choice, I’d keep it how it is.

If I had to change my name, and could pick any name I wanted…I have no clue what I’d pick. There are a lot of girls names that I like…Sophia, Amelia, Natalie… I just don’t really see myself as any of those. I’d have to do a lot of research and come up with a name I absolutely LOVE.
