Changes
So I’m sick yet again. I think that I have a cold that I just can’t shake. But that doesn’t account for the fact that last night was the first night that I’ve slept (mostly) all night long since I got back to school. I usually wake up 5-10 times during the night, but last night I looked at my clock at 11:15 and didn’t see it again until 7:23. I’m glad I got the sleep, but unfortunately my bigger problem still remains. I’ve pretty much felt like a ball of yuck (very nauseous and stuffed up with a headache) for the past week or so. I think it may be a combination of the fact that I’m eating completely different, have cut out virtually all caffeine (which can cause all those symptoms except the stuffiness) except the natural caffeine that’s in things like apples, etc, and haven’t been taking my medicine with food (something I need to start doing - aka: take it with dinner instead of right before bed).
Other than the great ball of ick that I’ve become, school is going pretty well. I got a new laptop on Saturday because most of my classes require me to have some sort of mobile computing, and a 3-year-old Sony Vaio with a battery that lasts only 15 minutes just doesn’t cut it anymore. The new ‘top has Vista Ultimate on it, which I still don’t like, but I’m getting used to it. It actually works pretty well. Except for the two days we spent trying to get it onto my college’s computer network only to find out that Trend Micro AntiVirus and Sophos AntiVirus don’t work on it at all. I’m now using AVG temporarily until I can get myself Norton Systemworks (which is what is on my desktop and I’ve never had a problem with it). Other than that, I’m perfectly happy with my new little toy and have been happily carrying it around with me ever since.
Now I’m in the process of setting myself up a system where I’m going to be making a schedule at the beginning of each week that has everything I need to do that week on it. Its an attempt to keep myself more organized and get more things done. I’ve also decided to start doing all my homework on the day it was assigned (or at least doing as much of it as I can) instead of the next day (only have classes every other day, so I usually do Monday’s homework on Tuesday, Tuesday’s homework on Wednesday, etc). Hopefully this way I’ll actually have a bit more time to do things I want to do, and also won’t end up forgetting that I have something to do until 15 minutes before class starts.
