So tomorrow I will be leaving for Texas. Flying out of BWI at 7:00 and hopefully arriving at my destination in once piece.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared to death to fly, but I’m trying to overcome the fear and make it through the flight okay. I’m sure it won’t be that big of a deal, but I’m still nervous.
Wish me luck!

Anybody who knows me knows that when I’m sick, my coping mechanisms go out the window faster than you can blink. I can’t deal with stress (even in tiny amounts) at all and people like Mike usually go out of their way to make sure I stay calm.
That said, today was a complete and utter fiasco. I’m almost convinced that one of the contributing factors to me not being able to shake this sinus infection is the fact that I haven’t had my allergy medication in a couple days since I’ve frankly been too sick to go get it refilled. But today I was feeling okay this afternoon so I decided that I needed to go get all my prescriptions refilled, especially my inhaler since my asthma has decided to rear its ugly head the past couple days too..

I popped into WalMart around 1:30 to drop off the refills I needed from there, and then went on to CVS to get the inhaler refilled. I hate having my medications at different pharmacies, but when I didn’t have insurance it was a necessity so that I could pay as little as possible.
After being at CVS for almost an hour I am informed that my prescription coverage was terminated on 12/31 for no apparent reason. They can fill the prescription and have me pay full price, or I can wait and try to get it figured out. I decide to wait and have to go all the way back home to get my cell phone and call my mom (who the coverage is through). She hangs up and I go back to WalMart after she calls and tells me it’s all sorted out.
I wait in line for a half hour at Walmart, get to the counter, and explain my situation to the clerk who checks and says “no, it looks like your insurance didn’t go through” and then refers me back to the drop off window. Another fifteen minutes in line and I’m told “oh it went through fine, your copays are $53 and $173 for the two medications”. I tell her that no, there has to be some kind of error. I didn’t even pay that much for my allergy med (the $53 one) when I didn’t have insurance. She rattles off something I don’t understand and sends me away.
Now I’m starting to freak out. Standing in the middle of WalMart, shivering from being sick, coughing every few seconds, and desperately trying to talk to my mom and figure out what to do. She then has me call the insurance company who tell me that WalMart hasn’t tried to bill anything to them since the last time I got my prescriptions refilled. Back to the drop-off counter where I’m then told “oh we have a different card on file for you, everything is fine now.”
I’m torn between the urges to either hug her or rip her head off and stomp on it. Back into the pick-up line where I then pay $30 for both prescriptions together and practically run out of there. But I still have to go to CVS whose technicians have thankfully figured out that the insurance is good and have my inhaler waiting for me.
Almost five hours and several creative cursing episodes later I finally make it back home and feel worse than ever.. Yay me…

Last night was absolutely terrible. I didn’t get to sleep until around 4 a.m. in the first place and was woken up less than an hour later by the insane amount of wind going on outside. The screens on my windows were shaking, things were blowing around outside and it was basically pandemonium outside from 5-9. I literally had to dodge a flying shingle as I made my way up to school this morning.
Tonight we can really see the damage. Many units have shingles missing or torn up from the roof and scattered all over the ground and parking lot. We lost a shutter off of my rommate Bri’s window and it landed by our other roommate’s car (could have VERY easily hit mine but thankfully it didn’t).

Naturally the crappy weather and lack of sleep are doing nothing for me being sick. If anything, it’s just making it worse. I’ve got so much built up sinus pressure that I feel like my head is going to explode. I haven’t been this sick for a while so I guess it was just my time. And of course I’d get sick the same week I leave for Texas. Just another way for the world to look down and say “HA HA”.
But I’m going to go. I’m going to get on the plane and not have a panic attack. I’m going to see my cousin and have a good time. I’m going to see Wonderland and love it. I’m going to have a great time. Because I refuse for it to be any other way.

No big post today. Honestly because if I hadn’t just looked at the clock and realized what time it was, I probably wouldn’t have posted today at all.
Everybody seems to be in a funk lately and I’m no exception. Everything seems to be going wrong lately and whatever I do to try and fix things just seem to make everything worse. On top of that I think I’m getting sick. I’ve been coughing up a storm all day long. It’s really quite annoying.
Pretty much only one good thing happened today…

I realized there was a Starbucks less than 5 miles from my house.

Tonight is another relaxation night for Whitters. I’ve firmly planted myself downstairs in the love sac and I don’t intend on moving for the next 24 hours. I’ve been so relaxed, in fact, that I almost forgot to blog. With that in mind, I’ll just leave you with my 365 picture today and promise that there will be a longer post tomorrow!

For some ungodly reason, I didn’t get to sleep last night until 6:00 a.m. this morning. About an hour later, my alarm clock was going off and I had to drag my ass out of bed to go to class. Despite being tired as hell, I really enjoyed the class. I’m learning lots of things about Adobe InDesign, and I’ve decided that Baskerville Regular (the old version) is my absolute favorite typeface (my post titles are Baskerville). Now I just need to learn more about the programs so that I can do more cool typography things. It’s such a fascinating field, and there’s so much you can do with it. If you’re skeptical, google David Carson and look at his work which is amazing (in my opinion).
After class I got some homework done and just lounged around because I’m really too tired to even think. The Dell technician came once again and could not fix my computer, so now in 1-2 weeks a new one should be arriving at my door. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that there will not be a problem with this one.
Tonight, though, Kyle came over and we cooked and hung out for a bit since I haven’t seen him in a couple weeks.

We decided that we were going to cook a chicken and broccoli stromboli for dinner, and even despite all the “if it catches on fire grab the extinguisher!” jokes, it actually came out really well and tasted great. We’re very proud of ourselves!
Now he’s gone, and I’m finishing up this blog so that I can lay down and hopefully make up for the Z’s I missed last night. Good night blogosphere!

My first day back in classes was the longest day that I’ve had in a very long time. But I think this is going to become a trend with Wednesdays. For the life of me, I just cannot get into my Art History class. Mostly because there’s a student in it who just pisses me off. He’s such a know-it-all, but the things he’s talking about have nothing to do with what the teacher is saying. But he just keeps talking and talking. A friend and I concluded that if when you open your mouth and the whole class groans, you should probably shut up. But he doesn’t. He just keeps yapping on and on until everyone in the room wants to kill him.
Thankfully we got out of class an hour early and I was able to get some relaxing in before I had to make dinner (yummy chicken alfredo pizza) and get ready for Radio X.

Once the show is over its bedtime for Whitters since I have class at 8 a.m. and I am definitely not looking forward to it (even if it is my favorite class). I hate getting up in the morning.
