I know I’ve been missing for a couple days… I’ve just been trying to get all caught up on my work and get things sorted out for me to start moving my stuff back home. I really can’t wait to get out of this place and get back home. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to Pittsburgh, but I don’t know. It’s looking like more and more of a possibility as each day passes. Even if I don’t get into the school I want to go to, my best friend and I may just go anyways so that we can get out of here and actually do something with our lives.
The other night was the first time I’ve seen my little inner circle of friends in a long time. We all hung out and ended up trying to make skittles vodka which turned out horrible. It tasted terrible (but smelled so good). Needless to say the night ended with some pretty spectacular headaches the next day.
I’m really trying to get back into the Internet scene. I’m a lot less stressed right now than I have been for the past couple months so I’m slowly transitioning myself back online. That means more blogging and (hopefully) some video blogging in there too!
I’m also thinking about starting to do some weekly/daily memes here (like Wishful Wednesday, Music Monday, Thankful Thursday, the Friday Five, etc). I think it’s a neat way to get to know bloggers better!
I’m also adopting a new policy for paid blogging on here. Even if the sponsored post just requires a text link in the normal flow of the post, I’m going to hopefully start putting in TWO non-sponsored posts in between all the others.

So today I’m going shopping with the family. Not exactly my idea of a great day… Just because I have absolutely no money and can’t get anything… So I get to just go follow them around all day so that they can buy stuff. I don’t really mind though, since I haven’t seen them in a long time so any time spent together is better than nothing. Plus I’ll get a free meal out of it (and with as strapped for cash as I am, free food is a godsend)!
Plus my cousin is here, and I almost never get to see her since she lives in Texas. But we’re going to get some of the planning for her wedding (which is in November) done. I’m her maid of honor, so it’s kind of a bummer being on the other side of the country where I really can’t help out that much in the actual planning process.
And now I have to go because I need to get ready to leave. My mom wants to go look at cars before we head out to the mall and she wants me to go with her since I know the dealership (it’s where the boy got his car).

If I had to guess what the one thing that Michael hates more than anything on the planet it would have to be wearing his glasses. We both know that he needs them, but he’d rather be without them and unable to see than to have to walk around all day with them on. I know part of it is that he’s afraid he’s going to break them since there have already been quite a few close calls. But eventually he finally gives up and puts them on so that he can do whatever it is that he needs to get done.
I’ve suggested multiple times that he try out contacts, but he’s had a bad experience with them so he doesn’t really want to do that. He got some back when he first found out that he needed glasses, but he always had a horrible time putting them in and getting them out. They’d always dry out and irritate his eyes as well. So he just gave up on them and learned to live with those ‘damn glasses’.
Now I’m considering coaxing him to try out acuvue moist contacts. It seems like these would be the perfect answer for him since they lock in moisture and that was his biggest problem with the contacts that he tried. If he could find contacts that he didn’t have a problem wearing, I think he’d be much happier because he wouldn’t have to go around being unable to see while he fought the fact that he needed to wear his glasses.
It seems like lately I’ve been missing things left and right. A bunch of shows were on that I wanted to see but never got around to, and I missed a whole slew of movie releases as well. It upsets me because then I have to wait for the movies to come out on DVD/Blu-Ray and then either buy or rent them. And for someone who is running extremely low on cash, either of those activities is a bummer.
I’ve tried a couple times watching things online… But it always seems to go wrong in some way or another. Either the movie will be too poor quality to see properly, there will be too many ads/watermarks on it, or it will stop loading half way through and I’ll be forced to start it over again. Not to mention that most of the good quality things get uploaded on sites that will only let you watch for a certain amount of time before you have to either wait a few hours or pay their membership fee.
I’ve never tried movie torrents, but they’re seeming like more and more of a possibility for me. Of course I’d never actually keep the movie… I just have a really hard time paying $6+ to rent a movie, find out I like it, and then spend MORE to actually buy it. I’d rather watch the movie for free first (unless I can catch it in the theater) and then go out and buy the disk if it’s something I want to add to my collection.
I know I’ve mentioned before how I’m a gamer and I’m always trying to find new and exciting things to play online. Well, I’ve hit somewhat of a dry spell lately when it comes to online games. I just hadn’t been able to find anything new out there to toy around with. I even went so far as to hooking my XBox 360 and Playstation 2 back up so that I could at least get some gaming time in.
But it’s harder to play big complex games because I usually never have a long period of time to sit down and play. It’s easier for me to play smaller games because then if I have to get up and leave it really isn’t a problem because I haven’t put a lot of work into the game and/or gotten really into it. I can walk away and if I really want to then I can come back and play again later.
That’s why I’m glad there are sites like miniclips, because that means there’s always games that I can find and play. Games don’t have to be big, flashy MMOs to hold my attention. As long as they’re entertaining, I’m down to play.
Anybody else have any awesome game sites (besides the obvious ones) that I could try?
One of the things I’ve noticed about York is that it seems to be a never-ending wind storm. I don’t know if it’s just the part that I live in or the entire area in general, but it’s always gusting outside nearly every single day.
It wouldn’t be so bad except that the wind gets bad enough to do some real damage. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve woken up and headed off to class only to see various maroon and green shutters laying in the road or against cars. One night the wind even ripped my roommate Bri’s shutter right out of the brick on our condo. We haven’t lost any siding or other shutters yet, but I figure it’s just a matter of time.
It’s one reason why I am EXTREMELY glad that we live in a condo and not a house that we own. We’re not held responsible for damage to the outside of our building caused by nature. And it’s a very good thing two. While we’re all pretty intelligent girls, I’m pretty sure not a one of us can tell you the difference between vinyl shutters and any other type. We wouldn’t have the slightest clue which ones to buy, how to replace them, etc. So it’s nice that Mr. Maintenence Guy comes and fixes that kind of stuff for us!
I have about had it with CVS. Every single time I get something filled there they seem to mess it up in one way or another.
Today for example… They completely neglected to fill my order I placed online LAST NIGHT so that I could pick it up after school today. Then the guy had to clear it out and had me tell him what I needed filled. THEY FILLED THE WRONG THING so instead of paying $60 like I anticipated, I had to pay $80 and I still have another medicine I need to have filled (the one they didn’t fill). And the one they gave me by mistake is one that I’m just starting my new one today and I wouldn’t have needed for another 2 months. That’s $25 I really could have used for things like.. ya know… FOOD.
Idiots!
I’m getting the one med filled there because its only $5, and I’ll keep two scripts there because they’re both really cheap, but my 4 other medicines… I am totally transferring them back to Weis Pharmacy because they never once messed anything of mine up. A couple of them may be a bit more expensive, but I will gladly pay the couple extra dollars to know I am dealing with competent people.

So I went out to get the new book Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris the other day at Borders because I’ve been waiting for such a long time for it to come out. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with it
. Even though I knew what the book was going to be about, it was nothing like I expected. It was quite long, but to me it didn’t seem like the book actually took the reader anywhere. It covered such a short amount of time, and while there were plenty of things going on in the book it all seemed more like just filler.
It doubly upsets me because now I’ve got to wait an entire year for the next one to come out.
Hopefully True Blood won’t be horrible this season like it was (at the end of the) last season. If it isn’t, that’ll be something that I can use to tide me over. If not, maybe I’ll have to start looking into some other vampire series (since I’ve been meaning to give The Vampire Diaries a try – I will NEVER NEVER NEVER read Twilight).
Anybody have any suggestions of good Vampire series? I’d really love some new reading material!
